Cullen Bay Marina in Darwin, Northern Territory, has undergone a revitalisation to activate, cool, connect and beautify public spaces between the ocean and marina, Carmen King, CEO of the Cullen Bay Marina Management Corporation , told StreetChat.
“Our concept designer Clark & Granger worked closely with us to reimagine the precinct into a family-friendly, connected community space,” she said.
“When selecting furniture we looked at Australian manufacturers with a reputation for delivering high quality products that had a reputation of longevity in a marine environment.”
Aria Seats and Benches have been specified in the ultimate low-maintenance combination of materials and finishes with Wood Without Worry aluminium woodgrain battens and Textura frames.
The Wood Without Worry battens offer the look of real timber with the durability of metal in a coastal environment.
The battens are in the popular Spotted Gum, with Textura Woodland Grey frames – the two together provide highly-durable, low maintenance furniture that only requires a wipe down with soapy water when necessary.
Wood Without Worry additionally does not get as hot as quickly as oiled timber battens, important for the warm Darwin climate.
