Moreton Bay Regional Council has upgraded the Albany Creek Community Centre on Turrbal land in Queensland, with a landscape designed by Mode Design, and built by Kimini Constructions.

This community hall is used for classes, activities, meetings, training and functions.

Associate at Mode Design, Andrew Butcher said, “the vision for the external space was to upgrade and re-invigorate the external entrance area with a new entry statement that provided an external gathering space prior to entering the Community Facility.

“The external furniture was selected to be low maintenance and to be integrated into the feature concrete seating.”

Linea Seats are installed; both surface-fixed and plinth-mounted onto concrete walls. Mode Design has specified Wood Without Worry aluminium woodgrain battens in Spotted gum, with frames powder coated in Monument.

The Wood Without Worry aluminium woodgrain battens provide the warm look of timber, but with minimal maintenance.

Member for Pine Rivers, Nikki Boyd said, “Through the COVID Works for Queensland funding, we’re able to fast-track essential infrastructure upgrades, like the Albany Creek Community Centre, which is used and loved by many in the local community.

“This program is specifically designed to help Moreton Bay Regional Council get their communities back on their feet as quickly as possible during the coronavirus pandemic.”
